ABOUT
I am Martin, the coach who unlocks your confidence, balance, and impact.
Hi there! I’m Martin.
Mind if we keep things casual?
You want to know more about me before hiring me as your
leadership coach?
That’s great!
I do the same when I’m looking for someone I can trust.
Leadership coaching? That’s been my thing since 2009. Let me tell you more.
I wake up every morning to help leaders like you regain their confidence, balance their priorities, and amplify their impact in a constantly evolving world.
I used to have serious doubts about the usefulness and real impact of coaching, but I didn’t realize how much I didn’t know!
Coaching has had a profound impact on the leader I’ve become, and now it’s my purpose to help other leaders.
Let me explain.
I felt like a lion in the Arctic!
As a manager in conventional organizations, I felt like a lion in the Arctic. My natural instincts and the qualities that had brought me success always seemed to be a problem.
Honestly, it was painful!
I delivered good results and achieved the goals, but I was criticized for ruffling feathers along the way.
It was a shock, a brutal wake-up call.
My assertiveness helped me achieve goals, but it intimidated others.
My transparency and direct communication style inspired teams, but it ruffled my superiors.
My analytical mind allowed me to quickly find effective solutions, but they didn’t follow the rules.
I constantly felt like I was swimming against the current.
It was draining and demotivating!
Through coaching, I became aware of my blind spots and the negative impact of my good intentions. I realized that the people around me had feelings (and egos) and that power dynamics were very real.
My personality wasn’t the problem, but I lacked perspective (and empathy).
My coach helped me see the impact of my actions on others and recognize the presence of political games. I understood that I was underestimating the importance of human relationships and that power dynamics are indeed “games.”
What mattered to me was achieving results. What mattered to others was how they felt in my presence.
It sounds simple, but it was a blind spot. Coaching helped me turn what I thought was a flaw into a superpower!
What about you… Do you know your blind spots well?
Now, it’s my turn to help you discover what’s holding you back from achieving what you want and having the impact you desire.
Three things set me apart as a leadership coach.
Unlike many coaches, I don’t come from a background in human resources or psychology. I’m an experienced leader (with over 20 years in leadership roles) who supports the development of other leaders’ skills. I’ve had the opportunity to learn from my successes (and my not-so-successful moments).
I understand your need to deliver results, complete your projects, and stand out. For these reasons, your coaching won’t be an extracurricular activity. We’ll use your real daily challenges to help you grow.
My coaching approach is grounded in real experience and a deep understanding of the complexity and dynamics of conventional organizations. I’ve spent over 25 years navigating organizations of various sizes and across different industries.
I’ve had successes, and I’ve had failures. I understand what it takes to succeed in organizations.
A no-nonsense approach.
My approach lies at the intersection of empathy and honesty, often referred to as radical candor. I’m direct and compassionate, but coaching conversations with me aren’t about cheerleading. My goal is to help you grow quickly by telling you what you need to hear – not just what you want to hear.
No small talk.
This isn’t some boring networking cocktail. Let’s call a spade a spade. With me, there’s no beating around the bush. You don’t have time to waste on circular conversations, ineffective empathy, or generic questions. Together, we set clear goals, and like a good GPS, I’ll make sure you get to your destination – even when you decide to take a few detours.
And as a bonus, I genuinely care. I’m human, compassionate, and I love to laugh.
Almost every coach talks about kindness and gratitude. They’ve become buzzwords that have lost their meaning. I’m not sure how to say this without sounding cliché, but I care.
Your success genuinely matters to me. Life’s too short to suffer at work. You don’t have to stay stuck feeling like your personality is a curse. Let’s work together to turn others’ criticisms into your superpowers.
And if, like me, you enjoy the absurdities of everyday life, self-deprecating humor, and dry English wit, we’re going to have a great time!
Decades of learning to become a great leadership coach.
My experience as a leader was valuable, but I didn’t feel it was enough to coach other leaders. I am a member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and obtained my coaching certification in 2013 at the PCC level (Professional Certified Coach).
I’ve also completed over 1,000 hours of additional coaching training.
Out of personal interest, I read about topics related to coaching, such as adult developmental psychology, neuroscience, leadership development, and more.
Almost 300 business executives, executive team members, business unit leaders, and mid-level managers coached since 2009.
My clients are non-conventional leaders who want to learn how to navigate their conventional organizations and thrive professionally.
To date, I’ve supported leaders (business executives, executive team members, business unit leaders, mid-level managers) across various industries (video games, software development, financial sector – banking and insurance, fashion industry, public service, consulting, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, etc.).
I don’t claim to understand every detail of each industry, but that’s not my role as a coach anyway 😉
